Couture New York Fashion Week!

Hi guys!

I hope you are well! Thanks again for reading :) Today, I'm presenting you with the blog post of a lifetime. I was able to go to New York Fashion Week with my friend/ assistant Shay for the month of February. I can barely even verbalize how honored I was to be invited to a dream event of mine. Since I was 12 years old, I've fantasized of going to New York Fashion Week, thinking that I would never be fortunate enough to attend. Yet, thanks to Couture Fashion Week, I was able to do so.

Originally, I was scheduled to attend The Society's New York Fashion Week show at Gotham Hall. Boy, was I stoked. Thank you to Mr. Brady King! Sadly, weather restrictions made me lose that opportunity. That is when Couture Fashion Week came in and saved the entire year by responding to a press request email and allowing both myself and Shay VIP front row access to their shows. And they were a complete knockout! We weren't ready.

I need not go into depth about the immaculate designs that were walked down the runway. You can look at them yourself. Brilliant fusions of bright colors, zaney patterns and profound garment construction were qualities that all of the designers met to say the least. I have been to many fashion show, yet I feel that Couture New York Fashion Week was like no other. I am so grateful and hopeful to say that I went in February and plan to return in the future.

Also, a special thanks to both Expedia and The Best western Premier for their amazing service and allowing myself and Shay to rearrange our travel affairs for the sake of New York Fashion Week. :)

About Me

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! I'm Calynn, 20x Award Winning businesswoman, media personality and former pageant queen (Miss United States Universe Tourism 2021, Miss World America Nation 2020). I started this blog when I was barely 15 years old in January 2011 as a supplement to my application to the retail business internship at the downtown Chicago Nordstrom mall! I stayed there for 3 years learning the fundamentals of everything fashion business from sales and marketing to media and modeling. This was a phenomenal foundation to my career as it gave me the rudimentary knowledge and competitive edge that I needed to be successful!  From there, I went on to college and obtained my first degree in Business and Humanities (the arts and social sciences). I wrote as a freelance journalist and editor for several large publications and hosted live cable television for two years. I walked countless red carpets being a VIP media guest at major industry events all over the country a

However, I certainly have no shortage of fun events to share with you all since my last diary entry/blog article. The Living My Best Life Tour continues. Let's get into it!  8 Day Caribbean Adventure on Celebrity Cruises View this post on Instagram A post shared by Calynn M. Lawrence, MSML (@calynnmlawrence) My mom, baby sister and I were blessed to go on a super fun, 8-day Caribbean cruise that was action packed with tons of fun excursions, great drinks, live entertainment and beautiful beaches. This was all of our first cruise and it was a phenomenal experience aside from being absolutely WIPED by the end of it. We got to visit Puerto Rico, the US virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Neives, St .Lucia, St. Johns, Barbados, St. Thomas and more! Below is my favorite photo from the vac

38 Underrepresented World Wide Talents That You Need to Know!

In a world where so many great entrepreneurs and artists can become famous at the act of one viral video online, it's easy to get lost in the misconception that with social media's "power," anybody who is talented is already known. After all, it isn't as difficult to gain exposure and "get big" as it was 20 years ago before the Internet's Massive Media takeover, right? Partially yes, however, social media also makes the market 10x as saturated as it was 20 years ago. Thus, are you really that much further ahead if all of your competition has the means to one-up you, free of cost and inconvenience, just by posting to their online accounts? It's a lot to think about. That is why we here at The Fresh Faces Project work hard to make sure that the artists and entrepreneurs and do-gooders who are underrepresented and don't get the fame and acknowledgment that their talents merit are given a platform. That platform is us. When creating thi
